Extended affine Weyl groups and Frobenius manifolds

We define certain extensions of affine Weyl groups (distinct from these considered by K. Saito [S1] in the theory of extended affine root systems), prove an analogue of Chevalley theorem for their invariants, and construct a Frobenius structure on their orbit spaces. This produces solutions F (t1, . . . , tn) of WDVV equations of associativity polynomial in t1, . . . , tn−1, exp tn.

Control Affine Systems on Solvable Three-dimensional Lie Groups, I

We seek to classify the full-rank left-invariant control affine systems evolving on solvable three-dimensional Lie groups. In this paper we consider only the cases corresponding to the solvable Lie algebras of types II, IV , and V in the Bianchi-Behr classification.

Controllability of affine right-invariant systems on solvable Lie groups

First we recall definitions and state our problem. Let G be a real connected Lie group, L be its Lie algebra (i.e. the set of all right-invariant vector fields on G). For any A;B1; : : : ; Bm 2 L we consider the corresponding affine right-invariant system = fA+ m Xi=1 uiBi j 8i ui 2 Rg The attainable set A for the system is a subsemigroup of G generated by one-parameter semigroups f exp(tX) j X...

AFFINE SUBGROUPS OF THE CLASSICAL GROUPS AND THEIR CHARACTER DEGREES

In this paper we describe how the degrees of the irreducible characters of the affine subgroups of the classical groups under consideration can be found inductively. In [4] Gow obtained certain character degrees for all of the affine subgroups of the classical groups. We apply the method of Fischer to the above groups and, in addition to the character degrees given in [4], we obtain some ne...

Characterization of Solvable Groups and Solvable radical

We give a survey of new characterizations of finite solvable groups and the solvable radical of an arbitrary finite group which were obtained over the past decade. We also discuss generalizations of these results to some classes of infinite groups and their analogues for Lie algebras. Some open problems are discussed as well.
